SurvivalQuest delivers risk free training that puts better trained crews to sea. Combined with curriculum developed in accordance with STCW '95, SurvivalQuest can deliver training for the following activities:
Control familiarization and pre-launch check
Coxswains are immersed in a physical reconstruction of a survival craft cabin configured with real operational equipment, including the steering wheel, throttle, gauges and hook releases. Using real operational equipment allows students to perform the same pre-launch checks they would perform prior to launch and gain a feel for the operational equipment.
Launch timing and sail away procedures
Launch timing is a critical component of successful emergency evacuation. SurvivalQuest’s realistic wave modeling allows trainees to experience the difference between a successful launch that carries the vessel away from the launch platform and a failed launch that propels the vessel back into the launch platform.
High sea state navigation and pilotage
Current survival craft training is carried out in benign conditions that don't accurately represent the conditions that crews can face in an emergency. SurvivalQuest allows coxswains to operate in high sea states, in poor weather and at any time of day.
Equipment fault and failure response
STCW requires that coxswains train for the response to equipment fault and failure. SurvivalQuest allows equipment faults to be safely introduced so students can take the appropriate corrective measures.
